How does orthodontic treatment work?
Fixed or removable orthodontic appliances are used to apply gentle pressure on the teeth and jaws. Over the course of the treatment, lasting a few months to a few years, teeth are gradually moved into the desired position. Treatments typically take two forms:
Braces — bands, wires and brackets are the most common fixed appliances.
Aligners — Clear aligners can be virtually invisible and can be easily removed for eating and brushing.
